No, it's not my birthday today, but it is in 20 days! I have an absurdly long "wish list," which is ever-changing. These two are definitely on it, and may get them early. My husband said I have a surprise coming my way Friday.

In other news: My sweet husband has already told me what I'm getting as a graduation present. A DSRL camera!! EEEEP! So, we're trying to decide, Canon or Nikon? And I am an amateur, and by amateur I mean I've looked at these cameras and that's about it. But with the camera will come photography classes or just a lot of help from one of our several friends who are in to photography. So, suggestions for which brand/model?

OH! I'm so in love with those two dresses! Really a good choice for a birthday wish :P
ReplyDeleteand Canon or Nikon? I am not actually a pro photographer, but my friends use... Canon, I think. I don't know, it's half-half. Both are good, I guess.
NIKON, NIKON!!! i just got a new dslr and i too am a beginner. good luck deciding.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Nikon person. You can't beat the lenses. But there are more options with a Canon so it's a tough call. I recommend reading reviews on the photography sites to get an idea of which brand and model would be best for you. I love these two things on your wishlist too!
ReplyDeleteLove the anthro selections... sorry- I am no help in the camera department!
ReplyDeleteGetting a new Camera is always soooo exciting!
ReplyDeleteyay how exciting!! my parents just got me the nikon d40 for my birthday! i love it because its so easy and the lightest of all the dslr's
ReplyDeleteWe have a Canon Digital Rebel XT. We love it! We went with Canon just bc we have access to Canon lenses and want to be able to use them. I've heard great things abt both brands though.
ReplyDeletewhy Nikon of course!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was graduating so I could get a camera. Mine died. I'm pining for a Nikon.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all... love both these dresses... my birthday is apparently the day after yours, so I might have to add these to my ever-growing list!
ReplyDeleteI have a Canon Rebel XT and I love it! I highly recommend it! Takes fabulous pictures!
Love your blog! I just got a Nikon D60 and love it. It is great for a beginner, like myself. I am really anxious to take some lessons and get better although it takes excellent, high quality pictures all by itself.

Oh, thank you all for your suggestions, congrats and for the link!!
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted as to what camera you pick and how you like it. I'm in the market for a new camera, but like youself I'm a total amateur. I basically know where the on/off button is and thats it. So any advice you can give would be great since we are in the same boat!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet hubby you have to get you such a fun present!
